Exactly what's going to be shown off is not certain at this stage, but those who have been waiting a long time to finally see some additional content from the upcoming horror game won't have long to wait. Things will kick off during the Opening Night Live event, which starts next Tuesday at 8 PM CEST, 7 PM BST, 2 PM ET, and 11 AM PT.
Since being announced, there's not been a large amount of information about the game, but there is some new stuff to check out very soon.According to a recent post on Twitter, fans will be able to take a "brand new look" at The Outlast Trials during Gamescom 2022. Five years is not a huge amount of time to wait, but with the first game from 2013 being considered one of the best horror games to mess with player's minds, many will be curious to see where the developer will take things. Ever since then, fans have been eagerly anticipating The Outlast Trials. The lack of specificity is there is a chance this might be something planned for next-gen.The last entry in Red Barrels' terrifyingly disturbing Outlast series was back in 2017.
But if previous entries in the Outlast series are any indication, we can probably expect this co-op horror game to come to PC, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox consoles. Platforms have yet to be revealed as well. The Outlast Trials does not have a firm release date or even release window. "Now we've done our proof of concepts," says Chateauneuf, "it is time to focus on content creation, variety. However, Red Barrels is now ramping up the production process. The Outlast Trials is still in the very early stages of development. "Our team is hard at work creating a new experience that will bring fear and anxiety to millions of players, whether they go through the experiments alone or with friends." "We are proud to reveal the title and the first image of the game to our great community and fans," says Chateauneuf. In the press release, the co-founder of Red Barrels, David Chateauneuf, had a brief message regarding The Outlast Trials.
